Adar Alfandari

Bio

Adar Alfandari is a Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who has been bending strings and writing songs since he was a kid. His music moves between acoustic folk and ’90s alternative rock, held together by intricate guitar parts and melodies that somehow survive even the hairiest fuzz.

He first made noise as the singer and guitarist of the Israeli alt-rock band Dor Hamabul, before moving to Europe and releasing two solo albums, Gold Dust and Amateur Architect. A band originally formed to tour the second record refused to stay temporary and became The Running Ducks — now a duo built on his creative partnership with drummer Matan Goldstein. There, the songs are allowed to get louder, stranger and change shape without warning.

Alfandari has never been interested in painting with just one colour. While a new Running Ducks album is in the works, Weary Roots / Walk It Off turns in the opposite direction — an intimate acoustic solo release, somewhere in the quiet, close-up world of Nick Drake. Different volume, same Adar.
